September 2019 – Watch This Space!

Welcome back from a long hiatus, DECIManiacs! While the semester begins here in Toronto, our team is hard at work preparing for the release of new material.

As new RAs are joining the team, and old ones are moving on to new positions, there will be a series of major updates to the site, the app, and the team roster! We’ll keep you up to date through regular newsletters throughout the year.

New, edited versions of the 1551, 1561, and 1632 data will become available on our app over the coming month. The new datasets will be fully searchable and hosted in the same frame as the original 1561 residential material.

In addition, we have two special updates from our graduate RAs on developments at home and abroad:

Hana Suckstorff wrote a review of the past two years of work at the Visualizing Venice Summer Institutes: DECIMA and Visualizing Venice Summer Collaborations

Eric Pecile put together a report on his progress with the 3D visualization of Buonsignori’s Florence: Building Historical Florence in 3D While Avoiding the Video Game

This project is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada
